Here's a question for you(re:CBK staff decisions)

How many of you on here actually thinks that CBK is letting staff members with LSU ties walk because he doesn't understand the potential consequences of his actions? How many here think that he is just blowing this thing up out of ego or spite? Seriously...don't you think SW has advised CBK on the popularity within LSU/La. that Raymond/Faulk possess? Maybe...just maybe...CBK has a BETTER plan than just keeping coaches because they are "LSU royalty"?!? Seems like maybe he's done this a time or two so MAYBE he should get the benefit of the doubt?

Look at his coaching career. Nothing tells you he doesn’t hire the right people. Let it play out and trust BK.

We need to get past this crap, look at the turnover Saban has , pretty sure keeping fan favorites on his staff is not on his list of priorities. If all that matters is taking care of “our own” we should have kept O.

TD has spent the last 5 years being a resource for our HC to vet out fan reaction to certain hires and schematic changes. The board simply isn’t handling the demotion well.

People will b*tch and complain regardless of the situation.

I love the hires he made so far except for Cooks that is a head scratcher.

Personally I hope BK never even hears about this cesspool. The last regime certainly made decisions based off shite that was posted here. Hopefully BK has enough sense to stay far away.

I’m imagining him in the building his first week and Derek sits down to plead his case to keep his job and shows him this weeks TD report and the top rated coaching hires that would make TD the happiest
Then BK reacts like:

Many rantards wanted 90% of the staff retained including "oh well Daronte earned the DC job" cause we did all out blitz for 3 weeks.

Everything you post is a head scratcher, so theres that.

It is painful to watch some coaches we really like leave LSU, but it needs to happen. It is best for the new coach to rebuild the program and the only way that can happen is to clean house. BK only needs to keep a coach or two from the old staff so the players feel a little bit of continuity, but there has to be enough turnover to give the whole program a new feel. Orgeron fricked this program up and it isn't going to be fixed with a coat a paint. It's time to gut it studs and rebuild it.

How do you know Cooks won’t be an analyst here?

Oklahoma’s pass defense was progressively worse each year he was there, but how much of that was Mike Stoops not adjusting his defensive schemes to combat the prevalence of the Air Raid offense in the conference? How much of it was a change in recruiting emphasis toward offense in the program as a whole after Bob Stoops brought in Lincoln Riley?
His first year at Oklahoma, the Sooners were in the top 10 nationally in passer rating defense and INTs. 2 of his 5 years at ND they were in the top 25 in passer rating defense. Again, who knows exactly his contributions to those results, but the point is that he was on staff for some pretty good pass defenses. Brian Kelly knows the quality of his coaching skills. At this point, I’m going to trust that he knows what he’s doing.

The hires have been fine so far except Cooks. He should be in an analyst role here not a replacement for Raymond. If they hire another DB coach that's elite to offset him that's fine. You at least need another DB coach who can offset his recruiting.

I will say this, and I'm just guessing off of how I would feel. Faulk made alot of money in the NFL, he should be set, and he just lost a daughter. He might just be thankful that he can just focus on his family right now.

He is a poli-sci grad and literally worked in politics. I'm sure he understands those relationships. He also has the entire athletic dept, who deeply understands Louisiana politics, at his disposal. I'm sure everything that he is doing is calculated, even if some of them are planned to be difficult or short term losses.
