People look just at his record as a HC and not when he was a coordinator. Greg Williams was a horrible HC. He still knows how to run a defense.

The best thing you can say about Kragthorpe is that he is not Crowton.
I have not gone through his record as a OC at Texas A&M but from what most people say it is nothing great.

i think he's a hell of a coach. i saw several of his tulsa teams in person and was very impressed. not sure why he didn't pan out at UL, but i think he will be a great oc.

Kragthorpe is not my top choice, but I think he'll do well here.

People can want some one "better" all they want. But if les does not mesh with him it does not matter.

Offenses improved when he left Tulsa.
Isn't a truly proven QB coach after being on guys like Bledsoe who were already developed vets.
Turned a dynamic Louisville offense into pure garbage after he took over for Petrino.

im not sure i get this guys appeal either. i looked over his stats at Tulsa, expecting to see some gaudy Texas Tech like numbers, but they were astoundingly average, essentially the same that we have under Crowton.

AT his last stop as an OC his team's record went 11-3, 8-4, 7-5. And I am pretty sure if I remember reading correctly, his offense degressed every year. Sounds nothing like Crowton

I'm hoping he is a pure backup plan since he wasn't employed. Doesn't seem like anyone is knocking his door down. It is nice that Miles looked at Harsin. So, that leads me to believe Kragthorpe is a backup plan. At least I hope so.

Other than winning the Big 12 Championship with Texas A&M in '98 I don't see anything special. May as well keep Crowton.

i call bull shite on this. yes, miles is the head coach but when your OC's offense is one of the worst in college football and he insists on running the option even though it continues to fail maybe he is damn justifyed in stepping in. miles is not a dictator.
