Hearing Franklin

Not to start another post. I live in Iowa.
Around the big 10, I’m hearing Franklin to LSU and Matt Campbell to Penn State.
Personally, I’d rather Matt Campbell to LSU. He is a better coach than Franklin. Not much better, but is better.

I work with many football coaches at the University of Iowa.
Again, just conjecture.

I know your record here that is why I didnt downvote or downbomb you. I just dont think that any important info on the next coaching hire is available to coaches in Iowa. Thats just my two cents on it. If info is out for the gen public then its smoke

I hear you. And I for the most part agree.
That being said, the Big 10 is just as incestuous as the SEC. These guys all know each other. 6 degrees of Kevin Bacon around here.

BTW: Nobody believes Mel Tucker is viable for the job. MSU is all smoke and mirrors at this point.

I don't claim to begin to know how all this stuff works, but don't you find it a little hard to believe that someone can call their shot about two coaches that directly affect each move?

Interestingly, I have heard old ferentz may retire after this season and if he does mark stoops would come back to Iowa. Could be a changing of the guard

What I heard from a client and a big booster at ISU “Matt wanted Michigan or Norte Dame, but Penn State is on his list.”
Who knows if these things are true.

Have not heard anything about Ferentz retiring. I know his son, and I’d assume he might get a shot.
Iowa runs a very clean program. Don’t know Mark’s history enough to know if he would qualify.

Historically this is true, but hell do we even know who the favorite is? I am 100% convinced that all of this stuff we are hearing is completely watercooler talk and media throwing shite on the wall. From what we know about Woodward, he keeps things very under wraps. You don't hear rumors of serious candidates or a favorite until the deal is nearly done. If is true that Franklin is the favorite and these rumors are out there I would think they are close to a agreement.

Franklin's agent sure is doing work. I expect this guy to get a big raise at Penn State. LSU is not hiring a guy who covered up rape with our investigations going now. His rape scandal is 100x worse than what LSU is going through now.
if anyone thinks this is a done deal. He may be on the candidate list at some tier but he sure as hell isn't at the front. Also if anyone thinks a "done deal" is here with the guy in the middle of a season with his team.
