Talking about how he may have waited a year or two too late..

Compared him to Gary Patterson, Jim Mora Jr, Seth Luttrell who were always up for big jobs but decided to stay at their schools.

He will most like finish 8-4/7-5 after a preseason top 5 ranking and 21 starters back. 18 of those starters are leaving after this year and he will be starting from scratch next year.

Campbell had a high stock before last year and 8-4 at ISU will keep his stock super high.

He may not be turning down NFL jobs at that level, but he can pick his elite college at that level.

This year has not turned out like most ISU fans thought it would. However, anyone who make a decision based off one years results is a fool.

Of Iowa States 3 losses this year Only last weeks was a “bad” loss and there were officiating irregularities that directly impacted the outcome. The other losses are at home to what turns out to be a very good Iowa team and on the road to Baylor.

This graduating class is a huge loss but it is also Campbell’s first real recruiting class and every year he has improved the quality of recruits. The drop off won’t be as bad as outsiders think.

Add to that Campbell wanting time be at ISU and not job hop and the thesis he waited too long to move falls apart. If you’re not moving there is no such thing as waiting too long.

Is he willing to play the recruiting game at an elite job? I just don’t see it.

JL is kicking back and enjoying life on the West Coast. I know that he and his wife Shannon divorced towards the end of his tenure at UCLA. I knew him when he was DB coach at the Saints. And we still keep up. He's a really good guy.....so is his Dad and his mother is one of the nicest ladies.

I'm biased on him because I've known him for almost 30 years .

People just dont seem to understand what it is like to coach at Iowa State. It is in the middle of nowhere in an area that is a desert for football talent. Going 8-4 there with a big win or two is fantastic.
