Has LSU just opened the Flood Gates?

with the caveat that all this comes to fruition and the financial terms are accurate, we could see a huge paradigm shift in the coaching field. Anyone think this makes it a lot easier to for these typical "NFL Guys" to start looking at the college level first?

Unless they are money hungry....no
NFL will always be the higher tier job.
Some coaches are made for college sports and like it better.
When you are talking about 3 million compared to 4 million I'd think the coach would go where he is most happy...I mean who needs 1 million if you already have 3 million?

I'm talking the positions other than HC. I'd be willing to bet their will be many many more Orgeron type deals in the near future.

On NFL live yesterday they were talking about paying Cowher $10m /year. That's more than double what a college HC could make. I would assume this goes for assistants as well.
In the NFL you don't have to recruit in addition to coach the positions. I would think this makes the NFL more attractive.

NFL also still has the better pension plan that many guys covet

Doubtful, look at how high the coordinator pay in the NFL is getting. Spagnuolo is getting $2 mill a year, Garrett is getting $3 mill a year.
Eventually this trickles down to position coaches as well.

Some coaches don't like recruiting. Most of them will stay in the NFL.

O is not an NFL guy! He spent about 20 Years in collage ball and 1 year at NO.
So you are right that you will see people moving from CFB to the Pros and back after a short time if they decide they like CFB better.

however in the NFL there is no such thing as an off season
july - camp
august - preseason
september to January - regular season
January to March - scouting for the draft and free agency
April - draft
May and June - minicamps
