Just read the article from USAToday. I'm shocked, but I also didn't now his salary was so low at Stanford either.
It is pretty ridiculous. From what I've read/heard, Stanford alums and boosters don't want to fork out a ton of money, either. Mainly because the emphasis on academics outweighs football over there, so they see no reason to substantially bump up his salary.

Saw that. Tubbs may be the new hire.

Tubbs would be huge for KU, but he will jump ship on you in a few years when he builds his name back up. He will bring Defense to the Big 12. That will make 3 teams that play defense in the Big 12, the others just put some guys out on the field.

Any coach who will have a ton of success at KU will jump to a bigger program. Harbaugh could've been gone next year.
And it will make 4 legit defensive teams in the Big XII - NU, KU, OU, UT. So the tide is turning.

Don't jump the gun for me just yet. We lost one of the best CBs in the country from the 2007 team, and a trio of LBs from the 2008 that were among some of the best in school history. Now we're losing a dynamic playmaker in Darrell Stuckey and a hell of a DE in Maxwell Onyegbule. The play of the LBs this season was promising, but the secondary got burned more often than not this season. Total overhaul in the secondary is in order, and the defensive line is going to have some holes to fill. The younger guys are going to need to step up big time next season. Hopefully with Jamal Greene and Jake Laptad coming back, things will be okay for the front four. A defensive-minded guy like Tubbs is what we need.
