Not that it matters now, but figured it was interesting given all the discussion on here about it. Said he doesn't know if they offered officially or not. Also said he's hearing Kirby may jump ship to join Dan Quinn if Quinn gets a HC gig in the NFL.

The operational deception plan on this one was masterful - people doubted but were hopeful about O, and that never looked solid from the "insiders" (although some package deals were supposedly "done deals") - but, we heard almost every name under the sun for DC.
Kudos to Bonnette, Miles and whomever else kept this under wraps until the last minute. We heard Steele's name early, then it got lost in the noise.

I'm sure he heard a lot of noise coming from Bama and just assumed it had to be smart because there is no way miles would hire someone that wasn't a current DC
