If Ala. is not going to retain Kiffin, then Saban should have no say-so where he finds employment. Further, if Kiffin is worried about pissing off Lil Napoleon and him making his name "mud" in coaching circles, what is his name now? He's been rejected by UH and apparently USF, and is down to negotiating with the scrubs. LSU will pay him handsomely to be its OC.

So, if I were him, to be honest, I'd try to stay at Ala. if Saban wants him out, for whatever reason, then he doesn't get to tell him where he can and can't go. And since his endorsement of Kiffin as a HC is obviously not very valuable, why does Kiffin care at this point whether he pisses off Saban or not by going to LSU?

Come to LSU, Lane, and with Ed and Dave. take down that little mfer.

Too many assumptions to count in the OP.

No shite!

Saban is putting together his plan to win yet another title.

That's likely ALL he is focused on and Kiffin's eventual landing spot is #385 on his list of things to dedicate thought and energy to.

Did Lane piss in Nick's punch? If it's true he wants him out... Why? Very understandable that Saban would not want any distractions going into the playoffs, and would want Kiffin coaching thru the playoffs. But if he doesn't want him back, then he can't tell him where he can go.

The solution that meets every party's needs is to announce Kiffin to LSU, after the playoffs. If Saban doesn't want K at LSU, then he needs to extend his contract.

There has been zero indication that Saban is telling Kiffin where to go once he splits from Bama.

Saban said Kiffin would remain through playoffs.

Saban endorsed Kiffin as HC material.

Kiffin has since been a candidate in 3 HC searches.

Why is there this idea that Saban is telling LK where he can and can't go?

He's under contract at Bama and interviewing for other jobs.

It's not like he has to interview with O.

This does not meet LSU's needs. We need an OC sooner than later to seal up some early enrollee recruits.

and to punch Bama in the nuts before the playoffs.

I think you have this backwards. It should be grow a pair, Ed!

Ed needs to tell Lane, look - we would love for you to be a part of the LSU family (which always rings hollow with me when I hear it) and you can have control of the offense but I am still the HC so I won't go as far as saying "complete control". We will pay you $XXXXX to be the OC. I need and answer no later than 6:00 PM Monday, Baton Rouge time. Let me hear from you.

You're beating your head against the wall. Some of these people live in a Rant bubble and what's posted here is their reality and what's not posted here isn't happening. Kiffin has an NC to win. There are no smoke screens, end arounds, conspiracies or anything else. Just football. It'll all play out within the next month.

Rumor is becoming fact.

None of you know whether Kiffin has even been offered the job.

The same morons who claimed that Jimbo was coming and Herman was coming are spreading the same nonsense about coordinators.

There is nothing concrete that supports this.

It would be nice if our OC hire wasn't based off of emotion like our HC hire was.

Sick of Kiffin's shite. He isn't worth waiting on. There are other options out there. IMO

Eta: It's O and Alleva that need to grow some balls.
