They're echoing what most are saying here - LSU is a top 5 job. Other than Urban, Saban, and Harbaugh, they said that every other head coach in college football would be seriously interested in this job.

They all said that they would be "surprised" if Orgeron were given the job, even if we won out, given our need for an offensive minded coach along with the big name prospects we could attract.

McElroy then went on to question Orgeron's ability to build and maintain a program year after year.

Hopefully Joe was listening.

Spot on. Not only that but they said all but those 3-4 coaches consider LSU as an upgrade from their current school.

Anyone wanting Orgeron is drinking mercury.

I just don't understand anybody wanting Orgeron over any proven coach. LSU is not a place to give someone the head coaching job to someone that has never built or successfully managed a program. He is a great recruiter but he isn't even close to being qualified for this job. He doesn't even coach. The only game day decisions he makes is whether to punt or not. He needs to prove himself at a small school before being considered for a major program. Motivating talented teams that are under performing for half a season doesn't qualify you as a head coach of a program like LSU. I love the guy and hope he stays as recruiting coordinator but he has no business running this program.

I wish the crazy fans would just listen. They won't. It's sad.
