I am far from a Greg Davis-hater compared to many Texas fans but I only give him credit for two things. One, as was mentioned above, he's not a bad QB coach. Two, he made the decision to move to a zone read offense with VY. The running success he had in his offenses was more due to personal (e.g., Ricky, Cedric Benson, Jamaal Charles, and pre-2009 good o-lineman....guys who've done pretty good in the NFL) and general scheme (having a running threat at QB with VY and to a lesser extent Colt) than his play calling or in-game adjustments (or lack thereof).
I for one am glad I don't ever have to listen to him in an after-loss press conference say "Well, they did things on defense we didn't expect." No shite sherlock, that's why you make adjustments. Terrible, terrible, second half adjustments at times.
I don't think FLA fans should be hoping for his hire...

Ask any Texas fan about the signature Greg Davis bubble screen.
At LSU, it was the Jimbo Fisher bubble screen...worked a fair amount of the time.

Is your knowledge of Greg Davis limited to 3 years?
Texas had a very good rushing offense for the majority of time he was there.
TK,
I've noted you as a voice of reason on this board and you are again correct. Many TX fans will bash Davis and simply say his level of success was due to having great athletes at his disposal...that fact is true of most big time programs/coordinators.

Great play when executed properly...OU runs that play and has much success.
