This but they'll have no problem increasing prices using this as an excuse.

Do what?
Your athletic dept. made $160 million+ in revenues and $155 million+ in expenditures in fiscal 2019/2020
That's not "making $150 million"

but $30,000,000 isn’t significant to our athletic department
Of course it is.Its significant to every big time athletic dept unless you have a Phil Knight who kicks in $100 million occasionally.

Who cares. A national championship will pay for that 100 times.

Buyouts don’t come from that fund. ??

Boosters pay buyouts. I'll never understand why so many people choose to open their mouths before doing a little research.

You sound like MommaD.
Do you want people second guessing how you pour and smooth concrete all day? Especially some suit that pushes pencils all day in the corporate world? Then stand aside and quit doubting the people that do this for a living, have the details on what the previous contracts allow or don't allow him to do, what that $17mm is actually buying. Then stop worrying about other peoples money and how they spend it. Sometimes you gotta spend money to make money.

Yep, LSU has to spend money to cover up its coaching hire mistakes. I do have doubt in the Admin's direction, when the same year the Athletic Department asked staff to take a 5% pay decrease, let staff go, froze new hires until 2023, and went begging hat in hand to boosters because of the Covid shortfall, is the same year he made this move.
Hey Sebourne Klein, don't bitch next time ticket prices go up, parking fees go up, concessions go up, and Taf reaches out to raise more money. Just open your wallet when the cost to attend a game continues to climb.

It most cases they do but $30 million is a bit steep for any school and its boosters.
Any idea who these guys are that are picking up the $30 million tab?
