Go after Rich Rodriguez...

kiss his arse, be patient, and pay him what he wants. He can win big at LSU...he is young, loyal, and I think he can bring a sense of continuity here with great teams year in and year out. And I think he would stay more than 3 seasons. If not...be patient and go after Del Rio.
Screw Spurrier...he's old and the golf here isn't as good.
And to Saban, like I said...we need a coach who will stay here.

Rodriguez is overrated and isn't worth the money.

Alright, so he's a good coach. I just get tired of reading threads about him because I don't think he's worth a $4 million buyout.

I'd rather us pay the 6 mill to get Tubberville.

Rich Rodriguez is the one coach I just can't see leaving. He is at his alma mater. And unlike Houston Nutt and Arkansas, his school loves him. They wouldn't let him leave. Not only that, I seriously doubt he would want to.

he wouldn't know how to coach SEC football. That East coast crap wouldn't work against Auburn, Florida & Georgia!!

That's what I'm talking about

If he is loyal, why would he leave his alma mater one year after signing an extension?

Sorry, but RR is the HC of a team that will most likely be playing for a NC. And not just this year, but for the next several. Especially if WV wins this year. RR also played for WV.
RR believes: WV >>> LSU.
Forget it.

he spurned Bama after pretty much accepting their job to go back home..I dont see how LSU is much different than Bama.
PLus i doubt we pay his buyout considering the system he runs on offense

An interesting wrinkle regarding these coaches with huge buyouts, like Tubby and RR, is that if Miles leaves for Michigan, we have an extra $2 million to play with because of his buyout. Just something to think about.
Posted on 11/28/07 at 11:26 pm to FredSecunda
dont forget we have a few boosters ready to pool out millions of dollars for a buyout

So how much is too much?

He is currently running roughshod over his Conference, with only the rare aggravation by Lville, Rut, and USF, and is in the BCS crown hunt yearly, all the while being paid a king's ransom at his alma mater, where his wife is happy, and owns a lake house..
Why take the same pay to leave legendary status at one's alma mater, to come to the demolition derby of the SEC, where there will be lumpy years in between the possible BCS race years..
Doesn't make sense as of current, as outside of LA and being HC at USC..he seems like he has the best gig in the land right now in terms of making BCS contention runs..at least with his current speed stable..his D is still very suspect..as is their schedule...the O is very legit.
RR isn't going anywhere.

If it was between Arkansas and LSU who would win for Tuberville?
