Someone posted statistics earlier that show Gilbert hardly makes any impact on the offense at all when he arrives. Canada’s offense is a game changer that will continue to be successful. The naysayers are the ones who would scream why are we running the jet sweep, yet couldn’t figure out why 5 plays later Guice was running down the field untouched.

I love this notion that LSU's offense was in any way good this past season

What was LSU's ranking as it relates to scoring offense? That is really all that matters. LSU has been terrible for a while, but were even worse this year.

Hasn’t the head coach admitted to meddling? I know the games I saw where we ran multiple shifts and sweeps the offense looked much better.

I don't want Ensminger as OC, but actually Guice had many more long runs the year Ensminger was calling plays than Canada.

Guice was also hurt for a brief moment this year unlike last year he was always healthy.

Agree. I don't want Ensminger but either due to an inexperienced line, Guice's injuries or scheme, Guice wasn't half as explosive this year.

Texas went from 84th to 14th

Tulsa went from 55th to 12th

USF went from Like 8th to 6th

Allot of that had to do with opponents loading the box. When there are 9 guys in the box, if you manage to get past them, there's no one left to stop you. But the safeties couldn't just live in the box this year.

If you listen to Canada’s interviews he tells you straight up he doesn’t give a shite about stats only wins. Which we didn’t get 4 Times this year. There was a lot more going on than “Canada’s offense sucking”. The game plan for beating bama would have worked if we had a better qb and our “star” wr could make “hard” catches.

And yes he will tell you every play sets up something later in the drive or even game. You can’t take each play with a grain of salt without looking st The Whole picture. This offense would have looked extremely different had we had a good qb who could make good passes and go through progressions.

What kind of impact does Ensminger have when he arrives?

I think most people are ok with Gilbert when the other option is ensminger

He called some of the worst redzone offense that I’ve seen

His motions are just windo dressing to identify protections and match ups. You can do that with any isolated motion.... Canada’s offense still kept us playing between the hash marks far too often after the motions were complete.... we need a open QB friendly concept system. Make the reads easy to understand and let athletes go be athletes.

Guice was also used as a bettering ram against 8 and 9 man fronts. There seem to be more space and lanes the year before. Not saying it's the main reason, but it was very boring watching this season as we had studs on the sidelines while trying to make stars out of Gage and Dillon.

QB did have a lot to do with not putting the ball in the air, but we saw what happens when you give guys opportunities to come in a make plays. ND used the backups to beat us on the last play.

Maybe Canada would have opened up a little more the second year, but it was not very promising watching the product he displayed against ND. Very lackluster and not productive. Don't remember seeing Davis or any of the big athletes have any chances in that game.

Canada’s offense and production was a disaster. Gilbert offers the tryle framed from the Art Briles system with peer spread and vertical passing.

Because he was healthy all year and had the same line as the year before.

The vast majority of fans on this board have no idea why LSU ran a jet sweep, or why they run the ball at all. They simply cannot grasp the purpose of a 4 yard run. Lol. Hell, they can't even figure out the need to create blocking angles.

WTF? Here is a link to review. Look up before/after for Tulsa, Texas, and USF.
