Who do the Pokes go after to try and rebuild what was once a proud football program?

Brian Bohannon…let him run his flexbone and reap the rewards.

Goff was a horrible fit and the stuff you hear behind doors is unacceptable

He was a VSU alum and went 22-3, but several star players jumped ship. All I heard was "trust issues".

The way he left VSU earned him ill will.

Look at the AD hiring, he of the 158-196 (34-53 at McNeese) head coaching record, making the decision.

A hill I will always be willing to die on is that he should have hired Pete Shinnick from UWF instead of Goff that offseason. Shinnick had experience building a program and took UWF to the championship game in their 2nd season of existence then won it all a few years later.

people need to understand what McNeese can afford. They might be able to pay 200k for a coach.

That’s “good high school coach” money

Shinnick actually built two programs. He re-started the UNC Pembroke program after 54 years of not having football. He built them into a playoff team.

While Goff did win with Kerwin Bell's players, he did build Tiffin from doormat into a playoff team.

They can’t afford Leger

Probably true, Leger and the staff have brought the program back from where Napier took everyone he could. They are leading the Sunbelt.
They are all getting new contracts ASAP

Agree, I certainly would not rule out Orgeron from strong consideration. He was an asst coach there, his son played there, he understands the culture and still has strong ties to the community. Whether he accepts or even offered or could be successful is another topic. But an offer would not come as a shock at this point.
