Jeez, head coach is protecting his position....
Has there ever been a more severe collapse?

Would think Randy is gone after the UF game. Keeping him to call plays.

We were really hard after a big time offensive tackle commit for FSU, it seemed we were running 2nd for him, with losing four starters he could definitely be a flip candidate

Edit: It's 5 star Solomon Thomas

Yeah Thomas is flipping. Only reason he hadn’t yet was because of Atkins. With Atkins being fired he will flip to LSU, UGA or Miami.

This was a terrible year for Norvell, but he's been a good coach up till this. I would give him a chance to turn it around .. but with a very short leash

He got some Mel Tucker in that resume. Norvell sucked at first then hit on a bunch of transfers that worked out the last two years. He didn't hit this offseason and it all fell apart. Going into year 5 he should've built some base through hs recruiting by now and he didn't. Their HS recruiting is pretty lackluster this year and probably gonna get worse with all the assistant changes.

He's the future interim coach. He's been head coach at UM and UF. It's the only state school left for the trifecta

Short leash?

“WTF you gonna do fire me?”

FSU just signed him to that extension less than a year ago, last Jan. to be exact…

quote:

8-year extension worth more than $84M before incentives after he had flirted with the open coaching position at Alabama following Nick Saban’s retirement.

Norvell would be paid $63.8M not to coach the Seminoles or 85% of his base salary & supplemental pay for the remainder of his contract, which expires on Dec. 31, 2031.

Don’t feel terrible for his assistants that he scapegoated as they had just been given new contracts and hefty salary increases in January of ‘24 as well. With those staff members that were fired each making in excess of $1.25M and above for the 2024 season.

This is why you can't rely solely on the transfer portal like FSU and Ole Miss are doing. Collapses like this will happen. Kiffin will book it before Ole Miss gets to this spot but they're headed that way.

Overall he is 32-26

with Jordan Travis as his starter, he is 29-10

Without Travis as his starter, he is 3-16

Yep. FSU had a lot of success early on with the portal. Gambled again this offseason and didn’t pay out.

Early OC rumor is UNLV OC Brennan Marion. Coached under Norvell before. Not sure how his offense will do in P4 football.
