And hire Mason or Muschamp to come in as a consultant to mentor the young up and coming DC. I mean that way they could still grab their HC buyouts and not shoulder too much responsibility.

O is painted into a corner. Last year there were so many options. This year he needs a single gap, up and coming young african american non retread.

I think you’re dreaming if you think Mason or Muschamp will just gladly come in to mentor a defensive coordinator. Maybe they would mentor a position coach while they served as DC, but they’re not going to take a consultant/analyst role to serve as a mentor.

Well, then that’s Freeman. And he runs a multiple so that makes him way more flexible than Pelini.

Ok then offer him. If he doesn't take it. Call Ryan Clark and ask him to make the hire or give him a list of alternatives.

I expect Mason to get a good G5 or a mid level P5 HC shot. Ship has not sailed on him. Situation at Vandy is not good eval of ability.
