Giants now officially have hired former Browns’ HC Freddie Kitchens as their new tight ends coach, as @BruceFeldmanCFB reported.

Giants also are adding former Missouri offensive coordinator Derek Dooley to their offensive staff.

I'm going with the contrarian view here; I think stocking the staff with experienced assistants is the ideal setup for a young, first-time HC coach.

To be a failed HC, you usually have to have been a pretty good assistant.
