1. Athletic department is broke after covid.
2. Auburn is working on a Football only facility
3. Gus is owed 10 million 30 days after he is let go. 21 million total in buyout
4. The rest of the staff buyouts will cost more than double what they owe Gus in 30 days.
5. Steele keeps the staff. No buyouts and he promotes from within cause the defense is his defense.

That is why Kevin Steele will be head coach at Auburn.

Plus a rumor about Steele is the one that went to big money guys at Auburn to get Gus fired.

So you think donors are going to fork out 45 million to get rid of Gus and staff and build a 100 million dollar facility.

Ok, rich didn't get rich this way

AU is top 3 in revenues (SEC) despite being shitty in football the past 5 years. AU is many things, but short on cash is not one.

Cristobal looks like he’s extending with Oregon too. That seems to be the consensus on Oregon’s side.

The money for the facility is already there. The main donors are billionaires. I know it doesn’t make sense to you or I, but millions for them is like a couple thousand for us.

LSU has plenty of money as well. Anyone that thinks a sec school is broke is a retard. They also lack the understanding that the school, the athletic department and the boosters are three separate things

yes, big time boosters don't give a frick. they want a winner and will pay to get it.

it doesn't mean that auburn will not hire Steele but saying they are doing so to save money is dumb. The big time Sec programs aren't broke and their boosters aren't broke.

The best reason is he’s the odds on favorite. Everyone outside the Auburn message sees the writing on the wall. The only people saying it’s not Steele are supposed Auburn insiders.

Aubie has screwed up every coach hiring to date...no top tier Coach is going there

Steele, Freeze, and the UAB Coach are about as good as Aubie can do....how can you expect anything else

Lol, no.

Plus, if Auburn is so broke, why fire Gus in the first place? Did they just forget about his massive buyout? Think logically, brah.

I don't think its a rumor. Gus got paranoid and tried to micromanage everything. "Inside folks say it got bad"....Players loved him and he was a damn good person, but the high school coach in him just kept popping up. It was only going to get worse if he stayed

Aubie will mess this up....to think they will “think logically “ is illogical thinking on your part :)
