Yeah there were rumors of Gonzalez to Tenn last year. That caused people to wonder if we had a shot to get back with Debose.
Someone in the Florida circles on the SEC board claims that it was his understanding that Gonzalez called their plays in the red zone this past year.
Personally, I'm cautiously optimistic on this deal. If we bring Tolbert in to coach WRs and I have confidence that Gonzalez could do well here. He would be surrounded by athletes and he's been around the spread offense his whole career essentially.
Wilson is the "godfather" of Louisiana.
Tolbert has huge ties in Texas.
Now with Gonzales in Florida and being able to pump up Harvin's success in the NFL.
We'll see, potentially a homerun hire. Let's see if it plays out first. The funny thing is, the word seems to be coming from Florida's side of things.

If he brings the "UF spread", I will be a happy man. That offense is known for getting the ball to playmakers. Something we lack in.

where are you seeing this? I want this to happen first thing tomorrow morning.
Our o-line was the root of our problems on offense this year (and I realize a lot of that falls on Miles too).

I like the idea, but wouldn't it take a season or two to get this type of offense implemented? The blocking scheme is a little different in the spread offense I think.

Jeremy Hill, Spencer Ware, etc.
Gore would become a great fit all of a sudden.

Look at how Mullen included Anthony Dixon in his offense at Miss State. It's possible for those guys to be contributors.

One bold freaking move by Les Miles if this is as OC.

I agree with this...

Memphis: FootballScoop has learned that Larry Porter has hired Mike Dubose as defensive line coach. We also hear that Porter could make a huge offer to lure LSU offensive line coach Greg Studrawa to Memphis as the OC.

Les is going All in to save this program and his job. Very bold, and I like it. If you're gonna go out, do it with guns a blazin.

Then who would be the QB coach? You would be hiring two guys with experience coaching WRs. The only way for their to be an opening for another coach if is Yano or Robinson left. Both have been instrumental in turning around our formally horrendous special teams.
