No reason why they can’t be on the level of Wisconsin.

You mean the team he himself said he couldnt recruit his type of players to?? If he goes to Nebraska, thats fine. He'll be the Dan Mullen of the Big 10. Winning 8-10 games a year, never sniffing a playoff berth.

Why would hiring him after Meyer left would be better than hiring him this time around?

He is someone very well connected to the state and he would have been accepted and supported back then. He wasn't embraced at Texas in the same way he would have been at Florida. However, now with the failed stint at Texas and a UF fanbase clamoring for an exciting offensive-minded coach he wouldn't get a ton of support here either. Stricklin is in the middle of a massive fundraising effort, he needs to bring in someone that has a consensus of opinion among the boosters.

Frost is my first choice, but there are other coaches i would take and be just as excited.
Top 3 other than Frost
Kelly
Taggart
Kiffin
Others I wouldnt have a problem with
Mullin / Fuente / Norvell / Morris / Strong / Gundy

Good lord. Please hire Kiffin. Pretty please.

Taggert would be a very good hire, but doubt he leaves Oregon so soon.

Florida will end up hiring a tier 3 or 4 candidate. The quick trigger y'all display will hamper you.

I dont think Stoops is interested in coaching again. didnt his father pass away rather young? and stoops wants to focus on stress-free living to have as much time with family as possible.

If he has matured, he would be a home run hire

Wrong. It'll come down to $. Firing a coach is part of the game. If a coach is scared we don't want them.

Matured? Lol!

Also, it very rarely comes down to money anymore unless you are hiring a mid major type. P5 schools that want to keep their coach just aren't going to be outbid anymore.

Stoops, Kelly & Charlie Strong the top choices

quote:

“Scott Stricklin, our AD, he’s well-connected around the country, and I believe we’ll have an excellent coach here in 3-4 weeks. … The coach is with his team now. The coach we’re going to hire is probably – I would almost 100 percent say – is coaching his team today, this weekend and through the end of the season and maybe through the bowl game.”

From the mouth of Spurrier

Considering Stoops and Kelly are out of the game currently, it sure seems like Marc Ryan was fed a crock of shite and ran with it.

Why would you want UF to hired Kiffin ? You guys would be lucky If you ever beat UF with him as the head coach . You should want us to hire a guy that’s more likely to fail like Mac . Kiffin would improve the offense , recruiting and he has already proven his offense works in this conference.

I really don’t think Strong is a bad coach. Is he the best Florida could get? No, but he never really got a fair shake at Texas. Herman is recognized as one of the top young coaching prospects in the country and he’s doing about on-par with how Strong did in his first couple years at UT.

I love when people try to make the argument that because a couple of NFL loaded SEC teams were able to barely beat them, then his offsense is soft.

Dude took 2 and 3 star recruits to a Natty and competed with that 2011 LSU team. He would be a nightmare with real talent.
