Not so sure about that. Mullen is young and is guaranteed to coach at state for much longer than at UF. So for him to leave the contract would have to be a monster. Expectations at Florida are really high.

I think he’d do great there though

The bottom line is, if Florida wants dan mullen, they will get dan mullen. He would be an idiot not to attempt to better himself and take a better job, furthering his career. Miss state just isn't a premier job and never will be. At best, they are a stepping stone job for good coaches.

You know what they say, if at first you don't succeed, try try again.

And if that doesn't work, go after Dan Mullen.

You heard that conversation as well as the one between him and his wife? You can be right, and still be full of shite. Osborne is his hero and mentor, he told him to come home, so he did. Congratulations

Whatever you want to believe, my man. Makes zero difference to me. Why the heck would I report it two weeks ago if it hadn't even happened yet? I guess I'm a fricking fortune teller. Then again, I did say Chip to UCLA on November 9. I really should get paid for this shite.

You still have to live in Nebraska. That is a far greater punishment than hiring Dan Mullen as your head coach. Enjoy the frozen barren tundra all winter.

And? With high risk comes high reward. If he succeeds at florida, which is alot easier to do than at state, he will reap massive benefits. I'm sure mullen, like any other coach, wants to be considered one of the best, and he will never get to that point at state. Sure, he is comfortable there, but so are alot of coaches that choose to move on to better programs. I don't get why people don't understand that. Coaches want to compete for titles. Mullen knows he can't at state, but he can at florida, that's why he will leave if offered the job in my opinion.

He's certainly not the home-run hire they were looking for, but they could've done a lot worse.

Hey, look at the bright side Florida fans -- at least you're not Tennessee

Like I said man, this has all been covered before. You're late to the party and never should've shown up.

Haha true, but at least it's not a frozen tundra. Grew up in Pittsburgh and I have no desire to live in the snow ever again

Baton Rouge is still better than Gainesville, though
