Do you still feel like your source thinks there is an 80% chance Jimbo is coming? When do you expect to hear another update?

add to that texas is a mess...plus both sides using each other for leverage with sexton and UT in the middle.

In the end i believe if jimbo ever wanted to come here he'll be here..he will be here. I believe we will outbid florida state if we really want him. Apparently we were ready to meet all his demands on the counter offer

One of the most bizarre things about the Herman side is claiming he wanted to bring in his own defensive guy to LSU. (This is from a source of mine that is close to the situation / also told me Herman was in town last Friday before anyone else). So, those following close know Aranda and Herman are tight leading to 1 of 2 scenarios.

1. Aranda was being used as a smokescreen by Herman so he could fly under radar and get through the season without answering the LSU questions.

2. Aranda possibly thought he had a shot at the job if Jimbo fell through and Orgeron played himself out the job down the stretch. One has to wonder what Miles and the administration told Aranda off the record to get him here. Maybe Miles and Alleva told Aranda he would be next in line etc..

Herman using Aranda as deal breaker makes no sense because odds are they would love to coach together. Herman coming to BR last Friday and it being so public makes you wonder why he was throwing signals at Texas? Texas being slow on Strong firing feels like a Miles situation in the making because the PR war could be lost really quick if he wins vs TCU. With Texas hedging Herman has been trying to smoke them out but they look to be in a tough spot. My feeling is that Herman might have really wanted Texas but it's going to require healing kids and time to turn it around.

Moreover, the LSU job isn't going to require the time and political maneuvering. Aranda is there with him and the program is in great shape. If Herman was willing to move on South Carolina and Georgia last season then LSU probably looks pretty damn good right about now vs Texas?

I think Jimbo wants to consolidate power at FSU in order to become Bowden part 2. Facilities, assistant coaches raises and renegotiated contract with security makes this his final destination job in Tallahassee. LSU is tempting for Jimbo but ultimately it's still a lateral move to jump in and play against Saban every year.

Fellows, the tea leaves point to Herman because of unpredictability of Texas situation including players psyche. I believe Herman is the target and always has been. At this point Jimbo is using LSU as leverage to get Bowden like powers and secure his future at FSU. Just my .02

How sure are you of that?

This is interesting, hadn't heard some of these details. Does this confirm the post from someone last Friday claiming someone they knew saw Herman at the Baton Rouge airport? Thanks for sharing.
