mark richt has lost control of the power boosters

I'm a UGA alum and there's no fricking way you could pay me to coach here. Sure, Richt HAS underachieved but it's not like he walked into a football powerhouse and suddenly started dragging it down.
The fans are lunatics and think that every year should be a national championship, even when the talent isn't there yet and you lose your best player and heisman candidate to injury earlyish in the year.

It's time. Richt will be fine somewhere else but his time is up in Athens.

This. USCe needs to go after their top target and get him under contract before this happens.

Nothing to see here. Happens every year. Move along.

After watching him on Sat, he looked disinterested.
There was no reason to stick with Bauta after that first half. Fla went ultra conservative and I have no idea what Richt was thinking not going back to Lambert. The game was still within striking distance and you would have at least put a little more pressure on UF to ask Harris to do more which might lead to a mistake from them.

... by whom?
Fuente? Herman? Anyone in particular you have in mind?
Last I checked you can only hire one HC numbnuts.
Once y'all fire Richt and suffer the karma kickback Jesus is going to throw on y-all's arse for firing one of his own ... y'all could hire Vince again and still struggle.
On the other hand, the Gamecocks have good karma. We're well liked by the football gods and we've paid our dues.

Its interesting. They're sitting at 5-3 right now with two of the losses to #8 and #11. With their remaining schedule, theres a good chance they win out and go 9-3 with a bowl game shot at a 10th win. That'd be a great season for pretty much anyone. Thing is the losses to FL and Bama were of the blowout variety when UGA was supposed to be a contender for the conference title. So it turns out to be a pretty disappointing 9/10-3 and another season that UGA doesn't live up to high expectations.

No there is not. Most likely we lose out yes including GSU the way we are playing.

compared to others i'd say they are pretty reasonable.

what's wrong w/ this picture?
Not if USC, USCe, VT, or Miami get him first

Richt would lose control before he even got there.

UGA is light years ahead of South Carolina in terms of coaching destinations. It's at Top 10 destination in all of CFB, and only blind homers would argue against that. The resources in the Atlanta recruiting area alone make for a fish-in-a-barrel scenario. The fact that Georgia has a path laid at their feet every year with fertile recruiting and still has nothing to show for it is the nature of the very argument.
Personally, I'd prefer Herman to Fuente, but I'd love to have either. The game has evolved beyond Richt's grasp, and new blood is the only solution.

I feel the same way here at SC I think we need to nail an agreement down with one of the two ASAP with all these jobs opening up and more to come.

How much money would Richt leave on the table if he retires vs got fired?
I expect he does a Tuberville where he walks with cash burning in his pocket.

UGA will go all UTk if they do this. Richt is a really good coach. USCe should hire him immediately = ream job for UGA.
Of course I expect CMR to save his job by thumping my Tigers once again, so this is all speculation.
Personally, I hope they fire the hell out of him!

That's speculative at best. I'll concede that the odds are greater that you'll find more Derek Dooleys than you will Nick Sabans and Les Mileses, but the fan base is just soooo sick and tired of watching the team sleepwalk through winnable games and then seeing CMR pull the Prince Valium routine in the post game presser.
You can point the "our guys just didn't execute" finger once or twice if they're isolated incidents. When coming out flat, getting outplayed and most importantly outcoached becomes the narrative for your entire program and totally redefines your career... you gots to go.
Georgia fans want more. Until the pain of staying the same becomes greater than the pain of change - you'll never change. The UGA fan struggle is real.
