A month ago how many of you had even heard of Marcus Freeman?

This is disappointing but I promise there’s more than one guy who can coach our players into a good defense next year. Our admin needs to take a step back, go home, get a good night’s sleep, then reset tomorrow and look at who all it out there. Don’t default to Raymond just because, don’t call Pete Carrol. There are a lot of smart guys out there who can connect with our players. Go find the next one.

Herman played us too. So happy about that. Just never know.

O might have to expand his preference of running a 4-3.. to get one of those good DCs out there.

I don’t even think we got played. From every indication he came down here with his wife with an open mind and listened to what we had to say. He left impressed with the program and positive about our situation but ended up deciding it was too big a move for his family. It happens.

I agree, but the only issue is if our administration wasn’t prepared for option 1B and option 2 we are in big trouble. I will remain optimistic, just hate O announced this was his Top Choice.

I mean I have to think they’ve had the conversation, it’s just not public. Do you think they just sat around all day twiddling their thumbs, waiting for the phone to ring?

LSU is dragging dollars through a coaching clinic at this point.

I can't agree more. I had no idea who Nick Saban was when we hired him!

O should not run his mouth publicly until he’s made a hire. He made the program and himself look bad. Derek should have told him this.

O might need to do some self reflection and reevaluate some things. He got the job based on bringing the best coordinators in the country to LSU and letting them run things while he took a CEO approach. So far, with the exception of Brady (which some may argue that Ensminger is responsible for getting) he has not lived up to his end of the deal whether it be because of an inability to identify what a good coordinator for the needs of LSU is OR because hot name coordinators do not desire to work for him. There is far too much talent at LSU for a coordinator to not have success. If Ed cannot live up to what got him the job in the first place, maybe the boosters need to pony up more money than they did to cover Bo’s buyout.

Freeman ran multiple fronts, including 4 man, but his base was 3-3-5. That tells me O is willing to be somewhat flexible on the 4-3. At least for the right candidate.

Yep. This wouldn’t look nearly as bad if he had handled the lead up better and if Woodward had kept a lid on the fricking leaks.

Wasn't this the sentiment once Aranda left too? So much talent anyone will be successful is what I recall hearing.

We will likely end up with Kris Richard

People forget he interviewed there first and was probably always gonna lean there barring Ohio state offering him but that wasn’t gonna happen. When you have the chance to interview with a top sec program you have to take it and he did.
