Every time we have a coaching change it seems that

I have been saying this since it was apparent Carr was gone. We are not likely to be upgrading if we lose CLM, in fact, I fear that we will have to settle for less than Les.

I think the real problem lies in the limited experience and minds of ranters here who know only the big name coaches and think they are component parts whose great successes can be duplicated at LSU. Spurrier, I doubt if he could repeat what he did at UF. Petrino, he's already done what he could do at UL. Not sure he could do it at LSU. Nutt, TT, Saban have had their glory days where they were/are. Saban's was at LSU and he squandered it for the NFL mirage. We're far better off finding another Les Miles, Mark Richt or Urban Myers sort of "up and comer" who can come to LSU and start to really make some noise. I am very glad rantards are not in a position to hire any next coaches at LSU.

we have a coach now that pisses people off b/c they think he loses to teams with inferior talent....anyone who thinks LSU's talent level advantage over UF, UGA, Tenn, Auburn is greater than the talent level advantage WVU has had over louisville, south fla and rutgers is crazy.

i have no problem with miles, or rodriguez but for the life of me i can't figure out why so many miles haters want rodriguez

what has he done at wvu that miles hasn't done at lsu?

Smartest thing said today. I'd rather the "devil" we know than the evil we might end up with. What would these football geniuses who are salivating for a new coach say then?

The whole SOS and N$ discussions are laughable. Del Rio maybe, if Skip is kept out of the discussions, as I heard there was clearly not a love connection there. If you heard some of the national talking heads saying Miles to Michigan is more by default because there is no one else out there, one would think the same thing would apply to a vacant LSU job. And like waiting too long to get a date for the prom when so many of the hot girls are already going steady might just mean we end up with ugly Betty as our date.

This is exactly what I've been thinking for a week. I have been very disenchanted with all the choices offered by Rantards so far.

DelRio SEEMS like a good choice, but it makes no sense at this point in the NFL season in a playoff hunt.

Spurrier--too settled in his ways, this isn't Florida.

Rodriguez? He's changed since he was at Tulane, that was ten years ago. What could he do with LSU talent? What could he do against the level of competition LSU faces? He already got called home to Mama and is taking the talent he has against the competition he has and is parlaying it into a flawed BCS system run. Why leave?

I really don't get all the NFL coaches. They'll all get offered in the NFL again, except maybe Saban.

I really don't see a name out there that I like with the exception of Muschamp and is he looking to leave? Everyone says we want a guy with head coaching experience so he's out.

Tedford? Cal melted down, this year.

Callahan? Uh, NO. 5-7 this year, and in embarassing fashion.

I just don't know, and at this point, none of these guys can fill Les Miles shoes, championships or not.
