Hope Alleva knows what he is doing THIS Time. (Have my doubts). Out of the 3 Known Candidates, I prefer Herman. However, I do feel Jimbo would be good for us. Coach O, I am pulling for a little bit, b/c I like the "Underdog/Down Home Boy redeems himself angle. " If Alleva legitimately had an opportunity to lock Herman down, He Should have! Even IF he thought he still had an outside chance at Jimbo. His "Safe" backup plan of Coach "O" and keeping Aranda, could Also BLOW UP in his face!

Let's say while waiting on Jimbo to come back around, Herman is snatched up tomorrow am by UT. In his deal, he convinces Aranda to join him. Aranda Could Easily do this, BC even though he is wanted here, He may want the "Stability" of pretty much knowing who his head coach will be the next 2 to 3 years, while he is auditioning for his own HC Opportunity!

Then, of course, Jimbo signs for his extension/pay raise at FSU, and we have to get Lou Tepper and/or Jerry Glanville down here to "Bring Back the Magic"

Nothing good happens on the Coaching Changes board after 1:00 am.

If O can bring Kiffin then Kiffin, O, and Aranda is the best option.

So Aranda comes here and trots out a top 10 defense in his first year. He probably wants to be a HC so the quickest route would be for him to go and coach at the dumpster fire aka Texas? A smart man would stay in the best conference where he already makes great money and has a great defense...he left Wisconsin for 2x maybe 3x the pay. Aranda next move will be for a HC.

Don't believe we hold onto Aranda if Herman goes Texas.

Aranda's goal is to be an NFL DC one day.

More like we'd bitten Aranda, in a "bite the hand that feeds you" sort of way. We brought the guy in, eviscerated the staff, yet we are now surprised he'd head elsewhere?

You frame that "Aranda could bite us"?

Why would he get to be an NFL DC or HC faster going to Texas?

Just give me reasons that justify him leaving LSU

Just like NCTigah said. It concerns me somewhat, because I feel like we have taken for granted that he will "definitely" stay, with the uncertainty of who the long term coach will be here. I also believe that he will be getting a promotion in the foreseeable future, but he has to do what is Best for HIM. And, to him, that Could be joining his old friend Herman. (If UT locks Herman down This morning, while we are busy flip-flopping around!)
