If he stays it would really help my stress level. But it's not happening. If RR would just hire a slam dunk DC he would have a damn good team.

ESPN needs to stop manufacturing news and just report it when it happens

If RR has been fired, the fact that Michigan is trying to keep it quiet actually has me a little worried.

The only two reason they would keep it quiet would be to inform the team first and/or to keep the pressure down until they name the new coach.

Rich Rodriguez fired, reports say

quote:

Michigan has fired football coach Rich Rodriguez after his third season ended with a school-record 38-point loss in the Gator Bowl, Fox 2 TV and the Detroit Free Press are reporting.

The report comes as Rodriguez is meeting with athletic director Dave Brandon on Tuesday. Members of the football team are scheduled to meet at 7 p.m. ET on Tuesday. Rodriguez traditionally holds the meeting the night before classes resume each semester.

I have to keep wondering whether Les is leaving and if so who we are going to replace him with. I would rather not have to worry about it.

And just five minutes ago, Gameday said Mich is denying those reports.

I'd like him to leave, but don't think he will.

Can't corroborate that, but Bruce Feldman, in the midst of talking about Les Miles' quirkiness and game decisions, said if UM and LSU swapped RR and LM, it would be a much better fit for both schools.

According to ESPN, Michigan has fired Rich Rodriguez and replaced him with Rich Rodriguez. ESPN is on it.

I doubt ESPN will have a ESPN Michigan page anytime soon.

same thing applies to many slick offensive coaches. Look at Notre Dame under Charlie Weis. losing on a field goal with 2 seconds left 33-32 (or whatever it was) to UConn must have stung. It seemed like 1/2 the games of ND I watched under Charlie were decided in the last minute and both teams scored in the 30's.

RR with Shepard at QB would be awesome. Too bad RS would be a JR next year. That wouldn't be enough time to develop him.

This is not even taking into consideration Mett and Rivers coming in. They don't fit.
