So we can lose both that OC and DC to a head coaching job in 1-2 years and have Orgeron in charge of hiring replacements? Last time he was in charge of that it was an unmitigated disaster.

If Jimbo comes, we never have to worry about the offense.

Aren't you tired of a dumbass CEO coach that the players love that can recruit? We need some brains behind this operation. Please god, give us someone with an IQ over 100.

If Ed Orgeron was from Nebraska, not 1 fricking person would want him as our permanent head coach. People can try to deny that, but you know it's true.

Stated succinctly and accurately. How anyone wants another CEO type coach is beyond me.

When did we have a CEO coach?

Surely not Miles as the Rant said Miles was running the offense.

it should be.....but apparently not.

I guess our idiotic fan base forgets what happened when they got emotionally wrapped up in bringing Les back. Hire the best coach, not the guy you've grown an attachment to.

Memories of the disasterious 2-9 1992 season pops into my head. I know it wouldn't happen, but relatively speaking, it would be worse than hiring Curly Hallman in 1990.

Ed Orgeron winning out against an unranked(how they finish) Missouri, Ole Miss, USM, Arkansas, Florida, and Texas A&M DOES NOT MEAN HE IS THE BEST TO BE THE HEAD COACH AT LSU. Good grief why do people keep thinking this is something that will get him the HC job or should?????

This is about hiring the best man to be the HC of a top 5 program for the next 10 years or so. Not to knee jerk hire a DLine coach just becasue he's from Louisiana and had the head set on for 8 games. If they would have retained Miles LSU would have the same record as they do now. Firing Miles was about hiring a big time coach.

Spend the $5 million dollar you want to pay for Fisher buyout on Aranda to keep him. Fisher is not worth paying $5 mil for buyout and additional $40+ million for a 5 year contract. Fisher played in one title game in 7 years and Miles played in 2 in 11 years, they are similar in style and results IMO.

You would be surprised. If this thread were on the TR, it would be a lot more interesting.
