Firing Mariucci was bad, and his success somewhat mitigates what I'm going to suggest, but firing George Seifert was stupid and unnecessary. He was 98-30 with two SB's in San Francisco.

Archie Manning used David Cutcliffe to develop both his boys then he was tossed aside.

Schottenheimer is a much better coach, but Turner his actually won a playoff game and has them in position to go again.

I'm not saying it was the right move, but you can't say its been a huge failure.

Its looking better this year. Last year it looked like a disaster until they rallied for all those wins.

Don't know his name, but the Duke Lacross coach during that whole rape of stripper scandal, which all charges were dropped. A guilty until proven innocent type deal. I can't remember if he sued the school or not.

Also, I wonder if it was Alleva who fired him.

Maybe not the dumbest, but the Auburn/Terry Bowden divorce in 1998 never made sense to me.

Seifert retired I believe, also Shottenheimer and the GM didn't get along not the owner, the owner told them to settle it and they didn't so he allowed the GM to do what he thought was best...STUPID MOVE.

I left out some stuff and some of the details are a little fuzzy but that's the cliffs notes version of how it went down.

No - firing Les would be the dumbest ever. He is the only reason for our success in 2007. And he has nothing to do with last year or the lack of offensive consistency this year. We are just in a 2 year of a 10 year rebuilding period.
Leave him alone. He is undoubtedly the best college LSU has been graced to have in any of our athletic programs.
