His first year at Syracuse he was 4-8, his last year he was 8-5. It's hard to win at Syracuse.

His first year at buffalo he was 6-10, his 2nd year he was 9-7. Its hard to win in Buffalo.

He's a solid coach. Not a great one, but solid.

Didn't Turner Gill win 10 games at Buffalo?

Can no one take a joke around here? I don't hold him leaving Buffalo against him though. IIRC, it was in the event of new management. Great move by his agent. Although I don't remember them having a shake up. Seems like this would be something more coaches add to their contract.

Good pairing. The knock on Marrone is that he is a genuine first class a-hole. Coughlin will not put up with any line stepping.

Marrone is a good coach, probably would still be at Buffalo had he not quit on them.

The Jags have a really interesting roster. They have drafted very well for a couple of years now. They spent a ton of money last year that didn't pan out, but I believe they still have some cap space in 2017. Good young players (Dante fowler, Allen Robinson, jalen Ramsey)

I like all of these moves for the Jags.

Caldwell has actually done a solid job bringing talent in. They are still missing some pieces but top-to-bottom they've got a solid amount of medium+ players. Coughlin's resume speaks for itself, he will instantly improve that front office in every aspect IMO. I expect the impact to be very similar to the Elway hire in Denver... obviously not saying Jax will be SB bound but I think we will see more smart decisions from that FO.

Marrone is not the best coach but he is steady and he is a good fit for this organization. They just need to figure out what they're gonna do about the regression of Bortles and his throwing mechanics, and continue to acquire talent everywhere.

No one will win anything substantial with Bortles. They are stuck with him for one more year and then will draft a QB. Marrone should have a chance in the AFCSouth after they get a QB in place.

Gill never won 10 at Buffalo. Besides that, Marrone was HC of the Bills, not UB.
