Don't forget, the Agents control the coaching carousel. Been in the works for weeks.

Kelly knew who would be interested in the DC roll and all position coaching spots months ago. Him and/or his agent have been talking with agents all around the country for months. He wouldn't let them go unless he knew better was very interested.

Same thing just happened with Wiggins at A&M and Bama. He knew he was going there a few weeks ago because the agents had worked out a deal.

Kelly has the guys lined up he wants. Those hires will be made very quickly or until the right person he really wants is balking (or still coaching) and says yes.

He may not have the guy he wants "lined up". But I'm sure he knows the landscape of who may be available and discussions with possible replacements have already been had. Contrary to what, apparently, much of the Rant thinks, the decision to overhaul the entire defensive staff wasn't made yesterday/today.

I appreciate former Oregon St.'s HC when he said out loud what all coaches think when asked about his agent vetting potential other jobs:

"He better be, I mean, that's his job. To let me know what's out there. Otherwise why am I paying him so much? I mean, you're talking about a couple million so far. Its an agent's job to let you know what the offers are."

It was the most refreshing moment of the silly season. True transparency and honesty.
