Lastly, 95% of OU recruiting classes have to be with out-of-state recruits because Oklahoma talent is trash. Defense grows on trees in Louisiana.

Its just going to be easier at LSU.

Look I think Riley needs a new start in order to grow as he's not getting it done at OU. So I hope he lands at LSU.

But this recruiting myth about state boundaries etc is pretty moot in 2021.

OU has a more talented roster than FL, FSU, Miami, USC, UCLA, & Texas. Location doesnt really matter very much.

Coaching matters and success matters. OU has always recruited outside of OK.

He just laid it out for you. You simply just don’t want to believe it. And that’s fine. Time will certainly tell in this one.

Only one of the teams on this list is bowl eligible

What does this list prove? You guys have a better roster than some has beens and teams in transition? How does your roster stack up to UGA, Bama, OSU, A&M, etc? That’s where you are eventually headed and that’s the only thing that will matter.

A school’s recruiting budget goes a lot further when you can rack up a top 10 class in your backyard and then just worry about targeting National recruits to push it over the top. There’s no mystery here.

All of those programs share their talent pool with at least two other P5 programs. LSU does not. We have a telent-rich state with NO in-state competition. The fact that OU has more talent than those other teams has a lot to do with Riley’s recruiting ability, which bodes well for him when he comes here.

The truth is there are TWO factors - coaching and talent. OU has a fantastic coach as well as elite talent in offense. They lack elite takent on defense. LSU, on the other hand, has elite talent on both sides of the ball but lacks in the coaching dept.

One thing that has become apparent through this is that Oklahoma fans really don’t understand the landscape outside of the Big 12.

LSU has won THREE national championships since OU won its last. To hear OU fans casually dismiss LSU as being below them is humorous.

OU is in for a rude awakening when it gets to the SEC. they aren’t mentally prepared for what’s coming.

Honestly, feel like Riley would be our modern day Spurrier. He’s about to transform how people see LSU. Could you imagine Odell I’m his system? Leonard Fournette? Not to mention he’s a master of recruiting big time talent at Qb and developing them. He always fields a really good oline (not this season but…)

Sooner5030 since you are technically agreeing with me I won't break down your post but it is not a myth. The reality is that OU recruits very well Out of state but out of state recruiting is much harder than in state recruiting and most OU fans just don't realize that.

The talent in LA outshines the talent in Oklahoma by a mile. I could argue LSU has more talent on its own campus (there is a HS on LSU campus) and in Baton Rouge alone than the entire state of Oklahoma has.

Not goin LSU. University have treated their coaches like crap. Saban, Miles, Shrimp Boat all left/fired. He could go .500 at OU in SEC and stay as long as he wants. He’d go 9-4 and be on the hot seat after one season in Baton Rouge.

Thats only because all 3 won National Championships. Saban left on his own. Miles won in year 3 and then went 8 years of mediocrity with an unwillingness to adjust his style. O had his off field issues. All have nothing to do with LSU fans or their expectations. Each failed the test of what any Blue blood wants which is building a program and sticking (saban), adjusting to the game (miles), and being a good citizen off the field ( Eaux).

Then I’m sure you would love it if OU hired either, right?
