Although program revenue, profit. And spending are all pretty much the same. The two schools are not the same.

Facilities favor LSU
Staff pay favors LSU
Support staff favors LSU

And most importantly... Recruiting Favors LSU.

Why would a coach want to roll into SEC play without the proper utilities to be successful.

Lastly, 95% of OU recruiting classes have to be with out-of-state recruits because Oklahoma talent is trash. Defense grows on trees in Louisiana.

Its just going to be easier at LSU.

Edit: OU will be in the SEC in just 1 short season. So the narrative that OU has an easier schedule is null.

Edit #2: If you are concerned about the OU Defense under Riley in the SEC. See Louisiana recruiting > Oklahoma recruiting point. Defense at LSU should be much easier than at OU.

It’s much easier at LSU. You have to be a really shitty coach to not make it work.

Do you know who LSU plays vs who OU plays? Much easier for OU to reach playoffs vs what a SEC team has to go through.

All of Oklahoma media from Rivals and 24/7 dumped an Olympic pool amount of cold water onto the fire last night. At the exact same time.

Yet somehow. Today. The smoke is still pluming into the sky.

Must be a big arse fire.

You sure? You know what his reasons are personally? Coaches leave places for a lot of different reasons. If he isn't getting the commitment he thinks he needs from the administration to compete when they switch over the SEC, he has a damn good reason to leave. If they expect him to win in the SEC without making the commitment he knows is necessary, then he's likely just improving his own situation by making the move to somewhere that will. I don't know that for sure obviously, but it seems like a logical reason for him to make the move now.
