Does Rich Rodriguez throw his hat into the ring for a big time job?

We know ole Rich loves to job hop and usually has his agent putting out feelers. He's still pretty young and folks in Morgantown still in contact with him know his family (mainly his wife) are not happy in the desert and want to head back east?
Does RR make a play at Tennessee or Arkansas? He'd be a better and more proven hire than some of the names I'm seeing being floated around (Taggart, Petrino, Frost, etc.).
He has a decent thing going in AZ but is totally out of the spotlight which he always wants to be in.

Why would any “big time” program take a chance on Rodriguez after the Michigan failure and his paltry success at Arizona. Losing conferene records in 4 of 6 seasons. 3-9 (1-8 conference) last year.

Rich Rod has one of the strangest contracts in college football, if he remains the Arizona coach until March 15th, 2018, he will make $6.5 Million this season.
I think his base is $3 Million, but the built in "vested feature" that pays him a portion of a massive donation to the University, as long as he doesn't leave or get fired for cause before March 15th.
I just can't see anyone offering him enough money to get him to walk away, this year.

He's a good coach. He took AZ to the P12 CCG and Fiesta Bowl the other year and will win 9-10 games this season as well.
Michigan fired him too early. He improved his record each season there and would have had a great team the year after he was fired.
Most of the names I've seen thrown around this board don't have half the resume Rich does.

I forgot about him . He would be a good hire for Arkansas. I don’t think Tennessee or UF would want anything to do with after his time at Michigan.

I am one of the only people that agrees with you in the sense that Hoke's first season was sort of an extension of what Rich Rod was building up. Others will say that's BS and that things got better because Hoke and his staff quickly shored up the defense. Michigan really just needed him to bring over Casteel IMO.

He had good defenses at West Virginia and before you say it he did play against good offenses. Those Louisville teams, McCoy, Ray Rice, Larry Fitz, etc.

His record at Arizona. No big time program is going to hire him with those results.
8-5 (4-5)
8-5 (4-5)
10-4 (7-2)
7-6 (3-6)
3-9 (1-8)
7-4 (5-3) and will be underdog in final game.

Its Arizona
The fact he won 10 games there is frankly astonishing
They are like the A&M of the pac-12 but have one less free game per year

Rich Rod has 61 frosh on his team. He is going no where if he is smart.

Btw, hearing WVU vs Oregon in Cactus bowl is real possibility.

Hire him for special teams coach if he can bring his young QB with him. The QB would be great in Canada's system.
