Does Raymond leave if not promoted to DC assuming Aranda leaves?

I mean if a DL coach can go straight to head coach at a top tier program, I sure as hell would assume a top tier DB coach/recruiter could go to DC at a top tier program.

I wouldnt mind trying Raymond out at DC. Cupboard full of talent. Rising star.

Can we get away from promoting all of Miles assistants and conduct a real search for great coaches? Not a knock on Raymond, just tired of the contentment with promoting from within.

I think it's fair question since he wants a shot at a DC position. I'm not saying to do it but i could see him leaving to.

If we lose O, promote Raymond in a heartbeat. We should still finish fine in recruiting, where if he leaves, so do 3 or 4 of the guys we had lined up to finish.
If it works, we will continue to recruit well and he will be unlikely to leave. If it doesn’t work, it hastens the exit of O and Alleva while we still have a talented roster for someone better to work with.

I love Raymond, but if we settle for a position coach who has never been a coordinator as our new DC, we are just further proving how mediocre of a program we are
