Does Mike Denbrock not want to be a head coach?

He has coached for a long time and has had consistently good to elite offenses. Curious that he has not taken an HC job somewhere.

Some guys are just career assistants. They’re happy to focus on and work their side of the ball without all the administrative hassles and responsibilities that come with being a HC.

It seems pretty obvious he doesnt anymore. Maybe he once did but the entire reason he left LSU for ND was to be closer to home...where he probably expects to retire soon. I dont see how you could see him as anything other than a guy thats winding down his career.

Denbrock is okay most seasons as a coordinator. I think he is pretty content at Notre Dame now.

He is 61 years old, and many schools may want a younger head coach.

I think he has a younger kid than you'd expect (teenager maybe?) and probably wants to spend time with them as opposed to having 24/7 head coach responsibility.

He's also a multi-millionaire, it's not like he needs the money.
