Does Mark Richt get another shot at a major program?

It's looking more and more like he was responsible for UGAs success. I'm assuming if he continues to improve at Miami he will get another shot. Notre dame if Kelley isn't fired this year? Could he go to Tenn if Butch is fired? I think he could be successful at Tenn.

Miami can't be a major program? Tennessee is a better job? Notre Dame?
Will he even have a better record this year than Golden last year?

Wtf? Um, Miami is considered a "major program."

I think Tenn is a better job than Miami by far. I thin what UGA is doing this year is much more telling than what he's done at UM this year.

Eh, they are a middle of the road ACC team. This isn't your 1990s Miami program. I think he'll get the chance at a better job. I would rank about 20 jobs better than the UM job.

Wow, what a terrible post.

So what you are saying is Alabama was no longer a major program before they hired Saban?

It may be better, but certainly not by far. Regardless, isn't Miami Richt's alma mater? He's not leaving after 1 year. That's absurd.

Based on what through? Miami is the heart of one of the three most talent rich regions for high school talent in the country. Tennessee almost entirely relies on its out-of-state recruiting, which is a huge challenge against other SEC schools in states that are loaded with talent.
Not to mention Miami is paying Richt about $4 million a year.

Miami hasn't been relevant in football in almost 15 years.

It'd be a good troll if Miami fans were actually here.
I don't think it's a troll though .

It's been almost 20 years, since Tennessee was relevant.

Top Miami talent isn't staying in Miami anymore. They are going to Florida, FSU or any of the number of other schools that recruit that area.
He could contend for a title at Tenn much sooner than he could at Miami.
I do agree that the fact that he's at his alma mater would make it tougher for him to leave if he's successful.

That's just not true. Miami had the same number of players drafted as Florida the past five seasons. They are behind Bama, FSU, LSU, Georgia and Oklahoma.

You really don't think the Tenn coaching job is better than the Miami coaching job?

I think you're wrong.
The Miami region of Florida produces more talent than the entire state of Tennessee. When Miami is winning, the program's ability to attract out of state talent is off the charts, as well.

They are probably on the same level, but again, Miami, even when it is relatively down, will get an insane amount of talent. The last five years (before this season), Miami's record has been 36-27, with 26 players drafted in that time. Tennessee (not including this season) was 31-31, with ten players drafted in that time. Miami has been underachieving tremendously. A competent coach will get them closer to the playoffs quicker than Tennessee, although the SEC East is absolutely terrible.
