I'm guessing he is going to retire, but any chance he ends up at another school?

He's a good coach. Sure.

Nah I think he's done. I see him doing some TV for a little while.

Doubtful it would be a major program. I could see him going the Frank Solich route, and going to a non-AQ program. A place like that would truly appreciate him, and he would probably do very well in that role. Less pressure in a job like that, too.

No. He is going to carry Saban's bags for the remainder of his career.

No way. He will be on ESPN during Saturday's broadcasts, and would be good at that.

if he resigns from texas and takes another head coaching job, than the (correct) perception is that he was forced out.

if he doesn't take a head coaching job, and works in the texas athletic department or tv, than he could say he retired on his own terms.

retiring sounds alot better than being fired.

Mack will be taken care of by UT. If he gets another coaching job he bails on a golden parachute.

A lot of the boosters love him. I'm sure UT would like to keep him around in some fundraising capacity

Unfounded message board fodder says Nebraska would be into him. I find this fascinating.

Saban to Texas
Jimbo to Bama
Dabo to FSU
Todd Grantham to NFL (or Krispy Kreme)
Mack to Nebraska
Pelini to UGA DC

I get this feeling too; I think his lawyer buddy (Jamail) has pulled a few strings to make sure he'll be fine.
He's done exemplary service, it was just time to move on. I doubt Saban (or any other high profile name) wants to walk into a battlezone in the athletic department. If everything plays out like it seems, we'll see the template for how to take care of long-standing coaches who just run their courses; Miles at LSU, Richt at Georgia, etc.
