Do not care one whit if Kelly is considered a "players coach."

Neither is Saban.
Frankly, the program culture appeared to deteriorate over the last two seasons. Little discipline, marginal toughness, much entitlement, rampant self-interest, and inadequate resolve.
Kelly is successful, smart, disciplined, intolerant of stupidity and laziness, and focused. He'll put the players in the best position to succeed on the field and in the NFL.
Brian Kelly is my spirit animal.
Dynasty.

Saban is very much a players coach. He puts on the hard arse mantra but he’s really a softie for his players and will be the first one to defend them and ride for them to the end of earth to anybody that says bad about them.

Very much like Saban in 99.
We Ridin
The public doesn't get to see coach/player interaction outside of games, we have no clue...sure coached hard, but they aren't an arse all the time

Amen. Only the players who want to be at and win at LSU should be welcome. End the NFLSU crap and create a culture where being on the football team at LSU is of paramount importance. Tell anyone who thinks they can dictate who the coaches should be or what system should be run to hit the portal now.

The big difference is treating the players as players and not like they are your friends. Yes, relating to them in important but that friend stuff won't happen in the NFL. They need structure, discipline, accountability, etc....O could not do that.
