Did Petrino jump the gun?

if he had waited a year, he'd have much better opportunities in front of him
nothing against Arky, but it's no UTenn
you can even make the argument that U-dub fits his profile better than Arky would

jump the gun?
Why would he be afraid to do that?
I'm sure theres a U-Haul somewhere in Arkansas open 24 hrs a day.

I know UTenn has more history and is a "better" school but Petrino has it made here. The expectations are slightly lower and we can pay him.
Plus he has Mallett coming in and he's locking up the talent right now. I guess we'll see but I'd like to think he's happy where he is.

The thing I would least expect to ever be written about Bobby Petrino. This guy makes Nick Saban look like JoePa.

Why is that? Because he moved on to better opportunities? You wouldn't do the same?
The way he left the Falcons should be the only thing you question... not the reasons he left.

For reasons unbeknowst to me, people seem to hold coaches to a higher standard of integrity (re: job openings) than they would themselves.

Clemson job >> Tenn, Washington and Arky.
So yes. If he was available this year, Clemson should've been all over him.

If only he could see into the future...

it's not hard to think that there would be openings that would be better than arky
*ETA: or at least equal

Frankly, I think he wanted out of Atlanta that bad.

Arky isn't that bad of a job. This link says he's making $3mil/yr. Yeah he could've done better straight from Louisville, but obviously he wanted out of ATL ASAP.

personally, I would have just stayed at Louisville. Certain schools are still known for their school name and not a player, coach, etc. He could have become the face of Louisville football forever, had statues, stadium, streets, etc named after him if he had continued what he was doing.

Did Petrino take the Atlanta job before the Vick situation went down? If so then idk why people hate on him.

I don't either. Hate on the timing or the way he left but I wouldn't hate on the fact that he left period. That was hell on him and his family.
It must have been bad if he risked all that bad PR for it.

That could have actually been fun to watch, a resurgent UW with Petrino's O going up against SC.

Washington and Arky easily
recruiting is easier to Clemson than UTenn also
and you can win earlier at Clemson b/c the ACC sucks

Yeah I think so. See SFP's reasons above.

like taking a job at Arky could ever stop him, he's a gypsy man, he'll go to the highest bidder.
