Well that's embarrassing. At least get 1 mill a year. Dude really wants to be a head coach. Idk why you would take less money to be a head coach at FAU over being an OC at LSU/Bama with less responsibility, but to each his own.

Lane has shown he can run an offense, now he's got to show he can run a program. Get them to a bowl or two and he'll have better offers.

His goal is to be a big time HC. He was convinced by saban and his agent that he would have to take a lesser HC job to prove himself as a HC. No significant program would hire him as HC before he proved himself somewhere else. So why waste any more years as an OC when eventually he'd have to take a lesser HC job to prove his ability as a HC. At least I'm sure that's what he was convinced of.

Perhaps saban even "invested" in kiffin to sweeten the deal for him to take the FAU job. Who knows.

What a joke. Didn't want him here anyway but I take that as a slap in the face to the program. Our OC job is better than that hc job and it has nothing to do with money. He's tarnished and I hope he stays tarnished. Serves him right. Better chance to move up to a big job as our oc

Dude, he's going to be coaching and recruiting from Boca. It's not like he had to take the Idaho job or anything

Buyout isn't bad, 2 or 3 years to prove he's worth another shot. Only question is how difficult will it be to win there.

Exactly what Ed Orgeron should have had to do.

When you fail as a big time HC, you shouldn't get to just go right back to HC of another big time program, you should have to prove you have learned by coaching a smaller program first.

Things will likely turn out far better for Kiffin than they will for O.

Malzahn took a huge pay cut to go to Arky St. It worked out okay for him.
