But having a coach who can develop qbs can keep your program on top for a long time!

Hire Lincoln Riley or another offense guy!!

Yes i am beating a dead horse!!

Agree. Another point I'd like to make: if we're gonna go 11-1, 10-2, or 9-3, I'd sure as hell rather lose those games 45-38 than 13-21 or 17-24. Makes the game a ton more fun to watch. I'd rather win by similar scores as well.

Get a smart coach. Period. Saban/Belichick are “defensive” minded coaches but they have had great offenses more often than not because they are smart enough to understand both sides of the ball.

I’ve seen this several times on this board. What makes you think defensive coordinators are easier to find? Our defenses post Aranda should be a good indication that isn’t exactly the case.

Why can’t we hire Aranda AND someone who can develop a qb?

We will end up with les miles type offenses again with aranda. Baylor is shitty on offense. Passing sucks.

People keep saying Riley will hire a top-notch defensive coordinator. Why hasn't he already done that?

Because the someone who can develop a QB will get hired away within a year of experiencing big success. Would rather lose a solid DC than a solid OC any day.

They are #24 in the country in total offense.

His only DC hire has been Grinch which was a good hire. He inherited Stoops.

Are you sure? Every year the defense has ranked worse than the year before and he's down to 74th in the country this year.

They improved like 65 spots the first year Grinch took over. He's only been there a couple years and only 6 spots lower in the following year. This year is definitely a down year. I do think Alex Grinch is a good coach and DC if you look at where OU was prior to him arriving and where they have been since.
