Since we are nitpicking through every candidate

So far in 2025, Tulane has not been overly impressive, sure they are 6-1 but the devil's in the details.

Their lone L was a blowout at Ole Miss, 45-10, it was not a competitive game.

Their most recent game was a W vs Army where they needed a fluke miracle TD catch by Shazz Preston to win, Army was the more physical team all game.

Their most impressive win was at home vs. Duke against their old QB Mensah.

Take a look at the games, not just the record

2025 schedule

Northwestern 23-3 W
South Alabama 33-31 W
Duke 34-27 W
Ole Miss 45-10 L
Tulsa 31-14 W
East Carolina 26-19 W
Army 24-17 W

He may be good to great, but I am kinda underwhelmed by their play so far this year.

Maybe they will be better and change my mind tonight.

I like his makeup but i feel we need to go with an offensive guy. He’s still on the list for me.

Never, not once, been the head coach at a school that makes winning a recruiting at a high level a priority. Next.

Didn’t they have a ton of attrition?

Pretty good in a rebuilding year, especially at Tulane.

He had to replace 60 players that left or graduated.

Google:

Jon Sumrall had to replace a significant number of players at Tulane, with the team bringing in about 60 new players for the 2025 season, including about 50 new faces after the 2024 season. This was due to a combination of players leaving for the transfer portal, graduation, and the NFL draft. The losses included key starters like quarterback Darian Mensah and running back Makhi Hughes.

Significant Roster Overhaul:

The Tulane roster for the 2025 season included approximately 60 new players.

Transfer Portal and Other Departures:

Key players like starting quarterback Darian Mensah and star running back Makhi Hughes left for the transfer portal. Top four wide receivers. The team also lost players to graduation and the NFL draft.

Impact of Departures:

These departures led to a need for replacements across the roster, with an emphasis on bringing in new talent through the transfer portal to fill the gaps and rebuild for the 2025 season.

Heals had to grab a QB last minute and change his offense this year in 6 weeks.

Their defense plays with intensity. Their offensive plays with great leverage. Two big backs they lean on. He has created an offense around who they have and found an identity.

Very good coach. Very tough teams.

I think deserves an interview.

This needs to be a homerun and I don't know that he is it.
