Aranda made some comments after leaving most likely won’t be an issue but could.

Could have been trying to make people feel like he was home.
It was about his Mexican ethnicity. How he couldn’t be himself at LSU.
People who are closer to the situation may understand what he was meaning.
He may have just been trying to jump in at Baylor.

Orgeron and miles have proven anyone with a pulse would win a national championship within three years

He is more likely to be fired within 3 years. If we want a steady hand with a consistent 9-3 yearly record, he is our guy.

They both inherited a solid roster. This job is a rebuild.

He was talking about how in contrast to Wisconsin he couldn’t be as technical with the defense because the kids down here couldn’t quite grasp everything or were more willing to rely on their natural talent.

Would not change my mind on him either way. You don’t make a hire off 1 game

If Aranda didnt have history at LSU he wouldnt even be in consideration. Therefore, he shouldnt be in contention now because nepotism hires almost always turn out bad.

Aranda has been known as a defensive guru at multiple stops in multiple conferences for a long time. He now has Baylor 6-1 he would be on anyone’s list.

And he's 100 percent correct. Kids down here are dumbfricks compared to the less athletic but smarter Wisky recruits.

yet, he still made it work.

Now imagine him picking athletic AND smart kids rather than every rock-brained DL O went after and you've got a recipe for dominance.

Aranda was also elevated to AHC at LSU and even though that may not always mean much (title only), knowing who the HC was I would expect Dave to have a bigger impact.

Hiring Aranda would not be nepotism. He's not related to Woodward or anyone in the AD office, to my knowledge.

It's a positive that people know him.
