Dan Hawkins joins FIU coaching staff
Interesting hire for Offensive Coordinator. Coach Hawkins hasn't coached in a few years and was horrible at Colorado. However his run at Boise St. was very impressive.

In less than 4 years, Butch Davis will have FIU winning 10 games. The shortly after he leaves FIU will be placed on probation

How does a school with an enrollment of nearly 55,000 fail at athletics? With that amount you'd figure they could be competitive in many sports.

I like this hire actually. I know he did some broadcasting for awhile, but I'm a little surprised he didn't take a job like this sooner.
I know he sucked at CU, but he took over as the school chose to neglect the program after Gary Barnett's unceremonious exit. It wasn't a great situation for any coach.

He did coach Montreal in the CFL very briefly, but yeah this is basically his first coaching job since Colorado fired him in 2010.

I worked with him two years ago when he coached the US National team in IFAF World Championships. He really is a great guy, just gig at Colorado set him back. He was looking at going after ULM job last year.
