Who knows ... but his coaching history leads me to believe that yes, he will be here in 2 years. Only 2 other schools have more SEC wins than Miles since 2005.

WTF? I was under the impression that Belowpar would be correct. I expect, going from history, that Miles wouldn't dump anyone until after the bowl game.
Why is everyone all of a sudden saying GC is staying?

It's all rumors for now. You won't know anything until after the Capital One Bowl.

like miles...the information is everywhere, and confused.

If I had a nickel for every time I've heard that since January 2005, I'd be rich.
And that's no joke, I'd seriously have like $14 million saved by now, which ironically enough would be enough to buy Miles out.

According to the chat room, Crowton is not leaving. Also, was said Miles is putting his stock in JJ as the QB....although Lazare and Scarb both think JJ is struggling to learn the game from a mental standpoint.

Do you not think the program has gone downhill a bit?
Posted on 12/2/09 at 9:47 pm to JPLSU1981
it's never been as pronounced as now.
your affinity and defense of miles is almost nauseating, JP. no offense.

Certainly, a tad bit, yes... not as much as many would like you to think, though.
All experts know that LSU is still on very solid footing.
Could we have a better coach? Certainly, I don't think anyone would disagree there. But to claim it's all coming "crashing down" is being a tad overdramatic and irrational.

I'm not defending Miles, I'm just playing devil's advocate to silly notions that "LSU's programs is going down the tubes."
Anyone that follows recruiting knows that not to be even close to the case.

explain.
there has been a need to completely overhaul both sides of the ball for 2 consecutive years now. there comes a point where miles re-evaluates his position on himself and ask if he's the problem.

Completely agree with you. But we could have a better coach. Everyone knows that and that's what makes it so frustrating.
We have a foundation, we just need someone to come in before that foundation disappears over the next 5 - 7 years. People see what happened at other programs and fear the worst.

Could another guy not do the same?

I think you are overstating the problems we are confronting.
To definitively say that Miles couldn't turn this around is pretty ridiculous IMO.

I really, really hope this isn't true. It's pretty obvious JJ is struggling to learn the playbook....but I think he's got skills. Which is exactly why we need:
1.) A really good QB coach
2.) An OC who can utilize the skills he has and run those plays, not try to make the entire team run an offense that doesn't fit the skill sets

But it's not certain that he could, is it?

Of course not. Nothing is certain. I'm not sure what your point is.

I cannot and will not believe Crowton survives this. Belowpar has spoken. Crowton will be sent packing. :crossesfingers:
