Crowton has a 19 yr old running The offense this year one of the youngest in college football! It takes actual game time to develope! Offense will improve next year if Crowton stays. He is a good coach and man! Guaranteed

I swear I don't know why anyone thinks this matters. He's a sophomore I don't care if he is 18, 19, or 20 it has nothing to do with the amount of football he has played.

Our offense DOES have an identity: a stable of talented skill players and an offensive line that sabotages drives.
I'm not taking up for Crowton, because I do believe a great OC could coach around this glaring weakness (I.e. put the o line in motion just like Kentucky did when they beat us in 3rd OT). Still, I do think Coach Stud should be shot. Not fired, but humiliated and dragged through the streets like an ousted dictator. If miles will do that, I might consider giving Crowton one more year to learn when to run the ball or not...

him being a good man has nothing to do with it. miles is a good man, but is an average coach, and that's being generous.

I got the hint that Crowton no longer cared for his job anymore when he ran a play-action on 3rd and 15 last game.

He's gone.

I just don't think that firing Crowton solves any of the offensive problems.
You do realize he is RESPONSIBLE for the offense, right? Strike 1...

I see the problems with Jefferson, but I think he can be an affective quarterback with instruction.
Pssst....GC is also the QB coach - he instructs JJ. Strike 2...

but it isn't like Crowton had much to work with. There wasn't one consistent thing in the offense.
You're frickin' kiddin' me, right???? HE DRAWS UP THE PLAYS!!!!!!!!!! And in the process has made a HIGHLY talented team look like the keystone cops. Strike 3 - You're the frick outta here!!!!!!!!

Oh, and this is coming from a girl....

I'd be happy if they kept Crowton. As long as they hire a QB coach.

that's why he's had prolonged success at various stops in his career
His history has been mentioned a lot, the fact he does good for 2-3 years then either wears out his welcome or becomes 'predictable'. Oregon wasn't exactly crying over his leaving to come to LSU, but not many shed tears for Jimbo Fisher either when he went to Fl. St. Is anyone ever happy with their OC?

I'd agree with you if he had a successful year or two.

He has a great first year, then consistent steady decline, normally when he has to develop a QB. People can say its about youth, but at BYU and Oregon it wasn't.

At Oregon, in year 2 (2006), while he put up some decent numbers, their offense was actually total chaos, no identity, no QB development, etc. Much like ours last year. The guy leaves both BYU and Oregon only to have both his QBs that struggled turn into studs in Beck and Dixon when a new coach actually developed them.

That is his issue. He's stubborn and thinks he's a genius. He continually out thinks himself and puts our offense in a bind with delay of games formation penalties, and illegal procedures.

It's ridiculous, and honestly he's only proven his track record again to be true.

No, I don't. Your entire post is a crock of shite. You have no clue, so you simply negate.

You claimed our offense is too predictable.

I recommend watching the tapes again. Our offense is anything but predictable, and therein lies the problem. We try to do too much, try to involve too many players, try too many formations, try to outsmart the opponent too much. It's a staple of Crowton's scheme at every stop he's been at.

His offense is too complex to be consistently successful. He tries to do too much rather than just stick to the basics and do it well. There's no need to outsmart the other team when your players are better than theirs.

Being predictable of offense is not a bad thing if the chains are getting moved consistently (see Alabama, see Texas).

Crowton is not the kind of OC we need at LSU. We don't need an offensive "innovator." We need someone who will coach our great players to beat the other teams merely good players by doing the basics, and doing them well. We don't need to have a playbook of 785 plays. We need a playbook with 20-40 plays, and let our talent take over.

106th in total offense and getting paid 600K a year? Easy decision. The same trend happened at his last two jobs and the Oregon fans warned us. He cannot develop QBs.

You totally ignore his inconsistent and arrhythmic play calling and COMPLETE lack of QB development.
