I'm sure some people in the know will have a clue as to some of the candidates that have been directly or indirectly contacted at this point... and some who will be. But it's too early to know who's actually interested, not even getting into the interview process, etc.

As far as his statement:

quote:

He is hearing it's a coach at a nice school, not getting the pub fairly successful, very fiery ... says the clue is STAB...

... the acronyms some are posting don't make sense and made up acronyms don't constitute a clue, IMO.

To me, the first name that comes to mind with the quote is David Cutcliffe.
- Duke = nice school
- Cutcliffe & Duke are a little under the radar but fairly successful
- fiery... not sure about that.
- STAB could be a play on CUTcliffe.

Cutcliffe might have several good years still in him, but he seems more like a 5 year plan than a long-term plan. So, I'd find him questionable.

... but as I first stated, it's all guesswork at this point, unless the powers that be decided they were going to get rid of Miles well before Saturday and have some sort of tentative deal in place already... which I kind of doubt.

I didn't make anything up. Cowherd said all of that about a blue blood SEC school in the midst of a coaching search. Is LSU not a blue blood?

Shaw was asked bout any possibility of him going to LSU & the look on his face was one of pure amazement & he laughed out loud. As his answer. Shaw turns down NFL positions every yr for lots more money.

I didn't listen to Cowherd, so wouldn't know. Just killing time at the end of work and replying to a post. If he was trolling so be it. But thanks for the heads-up, insults aside.

could mean PJ Fleck from Western Michigan. its a reach to say "fleck" is a synonym for "stab" but not a massive one.
