Could UF pull the trigger on Napier?

I stole this from the UF board. Is it a troll or could Napier really be on the way out?
I have tried to pull away from CFB but the FSU game reels me back in because I hate them. I hate them like that hot Ole Miss girl hates LSU. Napier doesn't understand this rivalry. His lifeless, low-t demeanor irritated me like no other tonight. His post game presser was awful. I've never seen a coach talk about so many things other than winning, like Napier. He's not the guy. He's never going to be the guy.

Of that list… I’d be really excited for either Klieman or Deboer

Who's going to be interested in that job this cycle? They're better off hoping Year 3 works out better and gives the next guy something to build off of

Are you referring to the number of changes out there already?
I have heard some people say they just hope he stacks the locker room with talent for the next guy. Maybe that's the plan.
Lot of fans are also tired of the AD and want a package deal firing.
UF president is Ben Sasse, new to UF, and he's supposed to be a "sports guy", so I guess it's possible he might get involved and force some changes.
All I know is that the lifeless robot doesn't understand this FSU rivalry.

No, they aren’t firing him after two seasons.

This makes the most sense, but I want to believe in something right now, other than a press conference filled with nothing but coach-speak.

Not saying Florida shouldn't fire Napier now but that is a pretty poor list outside of Deboer who is a lifelong west coast guy and I think might be a weird fit for the southeast.
Fisch has some promise but it would be dumb to fire Napier now to replace him with someone who has had only one good season at Arizona, as impressive as that turnaround has been.
Outside of maybe Deboer, I think anyone they hire on that list to replace Napier now would be being replaced in 3-5 years as well.

BN is coaching in 2024 but his seat definitely needs warming and he's gonna have to do a lot of changes internally going forward. His biggest thing is giving up playcalling and getting a new OC (Rob Sale sucks).
If they did fire Napier..talking 4 coaches since 2011. Not exactly a hot bed of stability.

This is the thing with Napier. He’s all talk. It’s like he learned how to speak like a great coach but not coach like one. He says all the right things, can articulate his plan and can’t execute it. The Florida job is too big for him.

He likes to talk about a process but it looks to me like the process is just a path to losing.
It's one thing to suck and I was previously feeling patient and optimistic about him. Dude lost me with that lifeless energy. It's FSU and you saunter into halftime then saunter back out appearing as if you did nothing at all at halftime then get bent over and destroyed in the second half. Then spend the entire post game presser with coach-speak and talking about everything but winning. "Process" and "evaluation" - no one cares. Look at the scoreboard.
Guy acts like he's teaching a class on business process management.
Talks about his players all the time. That's great. We can get a social worker to look after the players for $50k/yr. He gets paid millions to do that AND win football games. Part of taking care of players is winning and championships that they can take with them forever. I went to high school with guys that ended up going to UF and then to the NFL. All of them have rings and I'm happy for each of them that they got that experience and take that with them forever. What are these current players getting? Nothing but L's.
Napier has had six rivalry games at UF and lost all but one (beating Tenn this year). By comparison Meyer had 18 of those games and lost only one. Spurrier's era was when Georgia was very good and for almost the entire 12 yrs of his tenure FSU was national title worthy, as was Tennessee. In 12 games with Georgia he lost only one of them. Held his own against FSU despite every possible advantage going to FSU and he owned Tenner for most of his tenure. And he won a bunch of rings, as did Meyer.
Even Charley Pell was all-in on rivalries. When he came to Gainesville, UF was a disaster after the Doug Dickey era and FSU was a top 5 program, as was Georgia. Pell went 4-2 against FSU and started UF on a six game winning streak against FSU. When Pell was forced out he'd brought UF on par with Georgia and had passed up FSU. He was on par with Miami who won at least one NC during Pell's tenure. The 1983 victory over Miami is still famous in UF history.
These rivalry games matter.
Again that energy...if you aren't chewing nails and spitting rust for FSU, you gotta go. Winning these games is important and it will never happen with low energy and coach speak. At halftime FSU's coach had his players literally thumping their chests and screaming. Napier looked like he just took a tranquilizer dart to the arse.
He's an adult leading young men - he's expected to take care of them and do the right things for them. We have people in the military making 1% or less than what he makes and we expect them to do such things in war. That's just the bare minimum. He gets paid to do all of that, and win. Win big rivalry games. Win rings. Set these young men off into the world as winners. Not life champions in some Butch Jones re-do. Napier acts like this rah rah I'm doing good things for the players is enough. That's expected. It's a minimum performance requirement to not get fired for cause. Alone it does not justify his salary. He must win to get that paycheck.
Napier isn't the guy. He's never going to be the guy. He doesn't get it and it just doesn't mean as much to him as it does to others. This is college football. It requires emotion and passion. Fans expect what they saw from FSU's coach last night or what Coach O did back in 2019. Those business school lectures and $5 might get you some coffee at Starbucks. Otherwise they are worthless.
Ok, I think I'm over this now.
