i was listening to one of the "analyst' rant about how there should be some type of penalty for college coaches who leave there programs similar to what would occur if player decided to move on to greener pastures. Im not sure how you could actually do this but who else thinks it is a good idea?

Unless it's put into the coaches contract that would be against the law. You can't restrict a man from working where he wants. No coach would sign a contract like that. A school could ask a coach to sign that, but none would. A school can fire a coach any time they want, but a coach couldn't leave when he wanted ? That doesn't sound fair, does it?

interesting question...In my opinion, I think kids should be allowed to transfer without penalty of sitting out a year if they wished to leave..

I don't think that many players would leave, but I think they should have that option, especially if coaches who are paid, can just leave for more money or whatever...Scholarships have to be renewed every year anyway..

If something like that was already in place we probably would never had Saban and Miles as our coach.

The coach should be able to leave when he wants. However:

1) The players should be free to transfer if their coach leaves to take another job.

2) There should be an NCAA rule against contacting coaches before the end of the regular season. Both the contacting and the contacted school should have to forfeit scholarships.

And what should be the penalty for the schools that are so bent on inducing coaches to leave their employment with other schools. Do they not bear a portion of this "blame?"

I disagree. In theory, it sounds good, but everyone will tell you to commit to a school, not a coach. And it would be a logistical nightmare. Think of how many kids each year would be eligible to transfer. It would be a disaster.
